Building on the inspiration and resonance generated by the private screening of *Guardians of Our Planet*, Ju Xian specially invited documentary director Shu Menglan on Saturday, January 31, 2026, to share her journey titled “From the News Anchor’s Desk to Protecting the Planet: A Documentary Director’s Path to Sustainability,” fostering deeper exchanges and dialogue with colleagues and guests in attendance.
During her talk, Shu Menglan shared her journey from news anchor to documentary filmmaker, recounting the 15-year process of creating *Guardians of Our Planet*. From filming in the polar regions to witnessing firsthand the drastic impacts of climate change on ecosystems, she used her frontline observations and experiences to help attendees gain a more vivid understanding of the challenges posed by global warming.
She also noted that filming in extreme environments tests not only physical endurance and technical skills but also one’s commitment to a cause and sense of mission. Through her lens, the director documented the survival stories of endangered animals, hoping to raise public awareness of environmental issues and inspire more people to take concrete actions to protect our planet together.
In addition to Ju Xian employees, family members and external partners were also invited to participate in this event. Through the director’s firsthand account, attendees were able to move beyond the emotional impact of the film to gain a deeper understanding of the reality and urgency behind sustainability issues, thereby strengthening their sense of responsibility toward environmental protection.
While pursuing growth, Ju Xian must also actively address environmental and social issues.
